Enough pictures !

Mes trois ou quatre derniers postes sont presque uniquement composes de photos sans vraiment de nouvelles (du moins c'est le sentiment que j'ai). Alors voici quelques mises a jour sur ma vie au Japon jusqu'a maintenant !

Il y a 2 semaines, dans un elan de stupidite et d'irresponsabilite j'ai malencontreusement egarre mon porte-monnaie. Les consequences ne sont pas tres facheuses puisque la majorite des cartes en ma possession etaient d'origine Canadienne et de peu d'utilite au Japon. Ceci dit, il faut maintenant que je visite le consulat Canadien a Tokyo pour : 1. Savoir quoi faire pour recuperer certaines cartes eventuellement et 2. M'enregistrer avec ma nouvelle adresse (ce n'est pas obligatoire mais c'est suggere sur le site du gouvernement). Dans les cartes qui me manquent vraiment : mon permis de conduire puisqu'avec seulement le permis internationnal je n'ai pas le droit de conduire officiellement au Japon ! (je dois avoir le permis internationnal ET mon permis de conduire normal).

Il faut aussi que je retourne me faire faire une carte d'etranger puisque je vais encore en avoir de besoin pour d'autres trucs. Officiellement toutefois j'ai encore le droit de n'avoir que mon passeport puisque ca ne fait pas 3 mois que je suis au Japon.

Parlant d'autres trucs. Je dois encore obtenir une carte de credit pour pouvoir m'abonner a internet. Je suis egalement aller a la banque pour leurs donner ma nouvelle adresse et de ce fait, je devrais recevoir ma carte de debit d'ici la semaine prochaine ! Aujourd'hui egalement mon laptop a officiellement 2 mois. Cela fait cependant 2 jours que je l'ai remis entre les mains du magasin ou je l'ai achete puisqu'il s'est declare lui-meme "extremement las" (autrement dit : y marche pu pentoute). Heureusement, il devrait encore etre sur la garantie donc je vais le ravoir dans 2 a 4 semaines sans frais. Cela m'attriste un peu puisqu'il m'est difficile de survivre bien longtemps sans ordinateur mais comme je n'ai plus internet chez nous, pour l'instant, ce n'est pas trop grave. Et de toute facon, j'ai l'ordinateur du bureau.... ca, et aussi l'ordinateur de mon (ex)coloc... ok, je reprend : il m'est difficile de survivre sans PLUSIEURS ordinateurs....

Sinon c'est surtout boulot, bicyclette, party, cours de japonais, dodo... la routine quoi !

Here we go; my three or four last posts where mostly pictures, or so I feel, so let's make a quick update on my life here in Japan.

About two weeks ago, in a unprecedented stupid and irresponsible act of neglect, I carelessly dropped my wallet at a generic random location which I can't seem to quite remember. The consequences are less that what it would appear since most of the cards I had in it were from Canada and of little use here in Japan. That said, I now need to visit the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo to : 1. Know how to get back some of the cards I lost and 2. Register myself at the embassy (it is not mandatory but it is recommended on the gouvernment website). The only card that I really miss right now is my driver's license. I still have the internationnal version, but without the official canadian one, it is useless and I cannot legally drive in Japan.

I must also go to my new ward office to get another gaijin card done because I will still need it for a couple of things. Officially it is still allright for me to walk around without one since I haven't been in Japan for 3 months yet, but why wait ?

Speaking of the couple of things I must do. I still need to get a credit card so that I can get internet access. I also went to the bank yesterday to give them my new address and, by doing that, I should get my cash card in the mail before the end of next week ! Also, today is officially the 2 month's birthday of my laptop computer. However, two days ago I relinquished it to the merchant who I bought it from for the terribly simple reason that it died on me. I do not know what is wrong with it (I would bet on a fried motherboard) but it should still be on warranty and I will regain possession of it in 2 to 4 weeks, free of charge. This comes as a saddening news to me who cannot stay very long without a computer. But since I do not have internet access yet I do not really miss it. And anyway, I still have the computer at work... and now that I think of it, I also have my (ex)roommate computer..... so maybe I should say : "I cannot stay very long without all my computers humming happily"

Ok, that's it, the rest is mostly work, bicycle, party, japanese course, sleep.... normal-everyday-life in a nutshell.
