Reb's visit part 2 of 2

Eh bien voila. Cette semaine a ete un peu hectique mais neanmoins amusante. Ca fait du bien de passer quelques jours avec un vrai Quebecois, pouvoir parler de Montreal et Longueuil sans avoir a les pointer sur une carte !

Malheureusement, apres la fin de semaine je n'ai pas pu aller faire beaucoup de tourisme avec Reb, il explorait plutot la ville par lui-meme et le soir nous allions souper. Ce qui veut dire que je n'ai pas de nouvelles photos a presenter et pas tant de chose a raconter. Il faut ajouter que la temperature apres dimanche n'etait pas ideale non plus, il n'a pas plu beaucoup sauf mercredi, mais lundi et mardi ce n'etait pas le beau ciel bleu non plus. Enfin, c'est Tokyo, l'endroit ou la temperature peut changer plus rapidement que le tir de Lucky Luck... (ca va etre drole de traduire ca...)

Mardi nous sommes alles a Shibuya, mais je ne suis pas vraiment un gars de party et je sais encore moins comment trouver les bons clubs ou autres endroits frivoles du Japon. Bref, bien que voir Shibuya le soir avec sons et lumieres est fort interessant en soit, nous sommes revenus assez tot (enfin... 11h ou minuit...) et nous avons termine la soiree en ecoutant un film intitule 300 (en fait je ne crois pas qu'il soit encore sorti au Japon mais bizarrement je l'avais en ma possession...) C'est un film ideal a voir entre amis, l'action y est tres presente.

Mercredi etait jour de depart pour Reb, nous sommes donc retournes a Akihabara pour les maid cafes ! Reb ayant vu un horrible scenario impliquant un acteur celebre japonais et un maid cafe dans un court metrage televisuel etait plutot reticent, mais comme j'etais encore plus reticent a essayer cela tout seul, je l'ai un peu force ! L'experience fut fort agreable et maintenant Reb insiste qu'il ira en essayer un a Nagoya ! Nous nous en sommes tenus au minimum (quelque chose a boire, sans essayer les options plus "avancees" d'un maid cafe), cela reste extremement relaxant et plaisant. Reb a pu discuter avec les jolies demoiselles en costume pendant que j'essayais tant bien que mal de suivre la conversation. Chaque maid cafe etant sensiblement different, l'experience serait sans aucun doute a refaire. En plus de boissons non-alcolisees, les maid cafes offrent toutes sortes de jeux, des massages (reflexologie pour le cafe ou nous sommes alles...) et autres. En general, gagner a l'un ou l'autre des jeux vous donne la permission de prendre une photo avec la "maid" de votre choix ! J'aurais eu quelque chose de bien a poster sur le blog SI nous nous etions essayes, mais comme je le disais, nous nous en sommes tenus au jus sans plus.

Apres l'experience nous sommes alles manger dans un restaurant somme toute assez banal qui avait la seule particularite d'offrir des oeufs cuit dur a volonte comme "service" (en japonais "service" fait vagement reference a "cadeau" ou quelque chose comme ca). Ensuite nous nous sommes laisses, lui en train et autobus jusqu'a Nagoya et moi en bicyclette jusqu'a mon appartement.

Maintenant il faudrait bien que je vois mon autre ami a Nagoya avant de partir, mais je crois bien que pour cela je vais devoir aller moi-meme a Nagoya une fin de semaine. Nous verrons cela le mois prochain !

He's back home now. This week was a little frantic but definitly amusing. It was nice to spend some time with a real Quebequer, you know, being able to talk about Montreal and Longueuil without having to point them on the map !

Sadly, after the weekend I was busy so I could not explore the sprawl with Reb. So Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday he mostly went alone and then we had supper together. This is one of the reason I don't have any neat pictures to show and not even that much to tell. I have to add that after Sunday the temperature wasn't exactly sky-blue so it did impact on our "sorties". Well, it is Tokyo, and this means the temperature can change within fraction of a second...

Tuesday we went to Shibuya, but I'm not quite the party guy and I'm still no good at finding the busy and cool places in frivolous Japan. So, even tough the shiny light and sounds of Shibuya at night are quite nice, we came back quite early (well, like 11 or 12 ?) and decided to watch a good movie called 300 (actually, I believe it is not out in Japan yet, but somehow I was able to get a hold of it...) Fairly good movie to see with a friend, there are some awesome action scenes.

Wednesday was the last day for Reb, so we went to Akihabara for the Maid Cafe thing ! Reb was a little hesitant to go because he had seen a very disturbing scenario involving a japanese actor and a maid cafe in a clip on TV, so I had to insist a little because I wanted to go, but no way in hell I'd go there alone ! Nonetheless, the experience was a real success and now Reb is saying he'll definitly go with some friend in Nagoya ! We kept it simple and went for the "drink only" kinda service. This was plaisant and relaxing. While Reb was having a discussion we the very nicely cosplayed lady I was doing my best to follow. Each maid cafe is a little different so I'm thinking I should try the experience again in a different place, but still not alone (there's geeky and TOO geeky...)! Beside the non-alcoolic beverages a maid cafe offer games and other things (ours was also offering reflexology). In general, as I understand it, when you win at one of the games against the maid you are allowed to take a picture with the maid of your choosing. Yes, if we had participated in one of these I would have something very interesting to show here, but like I said, we kept it to a simple drink.

After this experience, we went for a much more normal diner in a restaurant who's only particularity was to offer boiled eggs as a service (service in japanese is kinda like "gift" or something...) Then we split up, he took the train and bus to Nagoya, I took my bike to my apartment and that was it !

Now I'm thinking I should go to Nagoya and meet my other friend studying there that couldn't come to Tokyo this time. Sadly it would only be for one weekend probably and it won't be until next month at least !
